AFTER the Sportscape International
reconstruction project. |

One
of the most dramatic Sportscape projects recently was the reconstruction
of two unusable fields at Anna High School in Anna, Texas. The
existing fields at Anna were designed as part of the construction
of Anna High School. But standing water on the baseball and softball
diamonds was so severe that the fields could not be used.
When Sportscape
of Texas performed a detailed survey, it was discovered that
the muddy fields had too little slope for proper drainage (a
common mistake and a leading cause of wet spots). The design
staff at Sportscape headquarters developed a new contour plan
which provided for positive surface drainage in rainy weather.
The fields were reconstructed according to the new plan, then
were re-sodded.
The project was
completed early in the year, and was ready for use by the Anna
High teams during the season. The result was a substantially
upgraded sports complex that provided greater playability in
a wide variety of weather conditions. |
